I've always wondered: Is there any interference between (say 2) separate Excel Windows/Programs each running a PortfolioSlicer operation at the same time on the same PC ... and sharing the same Stock Quote data collection?
If you have Symbols defined between 2 PortfolioSlicer workbooks in the same way, then you should have no problems - you will be able to use 2 workbooks. From my experience I saw some small issues: - When refreshing data on one workbook, messages about "Data Read", "Processing", etc were appearing in another Excel workbook status bar - Dialog messages in one Excel would make another Excel workbook "Freeze" until your close that dialog box - I do not think it is good idea to try to refresh 2 workbooks at the same time. Refresh requires lots of computer CPU power. But I never tried this myself.
So you could have 2 workbooks and most of the stuff will work.
