Hi Vidas
Firstly, thanks for making Portfolio Slicer available to us. I've been setting it up and playing around with it over the past few hours and its fantastic!
How do you input a change in the stock code/ticker without the model recognising a sale and calculating a realised gain/loss.
For example:
- Buy 1000 units of ABC for $1 per share on 1/1/15
- ABC's stock code/ticker is amended to XYZ on 1/1/16
- Sell 600 units of XYZ for $1.50 per share on 1/6/16
The model should:
- calculate the realised gain of $300 based on sale of 600 units
- calculate the unrealised gain of $200 based on remaining 400 units held.
Amounts should be shown based on the amended stock code, XYZ.
The change of the stock code/ticker should not result in a gain/loss being recognised.
Thanks
PT

You should:
1. Take a note of existing Cost basis for old ticker (ABC).
2. Enter new transaction on 1/1/16 for symbol ABC with transaction type "SymbolTransferOut", Qty=1000 and for Price use ABC price on 1/1/16. Also for CostBasisOverride specify that total Cost Basis for ABC.
3. Enter new transaction on 1/1/16 for symbol XYZ with transaction type "SymbolTransferIn", Qty=1000 and Price use same as in the previous transaction. It is critical that here you specify CostBasisOverride with original CostBasis for that symbol.
4. On 1/6/16 you add sell transaction - nothing special here as cost basis will be calculated for sell automatically.
