Stock symbol change - CPG to VRN
What is the best way to input a stock symbol change?
I would love to keep all my dividend and trading history of CPG, but it changed its' name/symbol to VRN a few days ago.
I could sell my CPG shares at their current cost base, and buy VRN at my current CPG cost base....but then VRN wouldn't reflect my past CPG dividends and trading activities from a performance perspective.

Comments
1. In the Quotes folder I would change files names: _CPG_.txt to _VRN_.txt and _CPT__Archive.txt to _VRN__Archive.txt.
2. In these above files I would do global replacement CPG->VRN
3. In Scripts\psConfig.txt rename CPG to VRN
4. In your Excel source spreadsheet in Symbol, SymbolSector, SymbolAlias tables replace CPG to VRN.
5. In your Excel source spreadsheet in Transactions table replace CPG to VRN.
6. Save Excel spreadsheets, re-run UpdatePSData.bat and refresh Reports workbook.
