TransType Expansion

To properly track our interest payments from bonds and bond ETFs and other fixed-income assets for income tax purposes, an expansion of the INT type to mimic the types for dividends; DIV, DIVTA, DRIP, and DRIPTA would be useful so Portfolio Slicer tracks the information for income tax purposes especially when the user is making quarterly income tax installment payments to CRA.

  • In Transactions table there is a column "TransSubType". It was introduced so that users could have a more precise grouping of transactions. For example, for all my DRIP transactions I always enter as 2 transactions, first one as DivTA - dividends received and second one as BuyTA with TransSubType = 'DRIP'. This way to any report I can add slicer or row/column for TransSubType and then see results by TransSubType.
