I’m facing an issue with capital gains after transferring VEQT shares between two accounts, and I need help understanding why there’s a negative realized gain.

Situation:

I transferred 130,000 VEQT from HOLDCO to HOLDCO2 on 2025-12-11.

I set CostBasisOverride to 5,380,459 for both the TransferOut in HOLDCO and TransferIn in HOLDCO2.

Transfer price was 54.68 in both accounts, which was the price the day the transfer was made

What I’m seeing:

HOLDCO2 is showing a negative realized capital gain of -1,7M, even though it should be zero. Its also showing a 1.7M Unrealized capital gain.

Unrealized gain looks correct, but the realized gain doesn't make sense.

Is there something I’m missing with how the system handles internal transfers?

First off, Happy New Year to you and yours.

I downloaded the latest scripts and unzipped them.  Unfortunately, all files in "Scripts" directory were replaced including psConfig.txt.  I restored the psConfig.txt file from version 2, added in the stocks that I purchased since then and added in  entries.

In running UpdatePSData.bat, it took almost 4 minutes just to get the Yahoo historical data versus before, about 12 seconds.  That I can live with.  However, when I refresh Data in the Workbook, the information does not update.  The refresh time is December 30, 18:31, or the last time that I ran it before I downloaded the new scripts. The Last Quote is 2025-12-30 as is the Last Exch Date.

When I check the data in PSData folder, for example in Quotes.csv, the last entry per stock is 20251231. But when I check the entries in the Quotes folder, the last entry for each stock is 2025-12-30.

Do you require any further information before you can troubleshoot this?

I have been using Portfolio Slicer since 2015 and I really appreciate the hard work and continued support by Mr. Vidas. The tool has been extremely useful for me over the years.

I recently purchased some bonds in the Indian market and I’m trying to record them correctly in Portfolio Slicer.
The total settlement amount I paid includes:

the purchase price (clean price × units), and

the accrued interest from the last coupon date up to the purchase date.

I am not sure what is the correct way to enter this in Portfolio Slicer so that:

my cost basis,

income (coupon payments), and

value changes over the holding period

are all tracked accurately.

Should I enter the full settlement amount as a single BUY transaction, or should accrued interest be recorded separately (for example, as a negative dividend)?
If someone has experience recording bond purchases with accrued interest in Portfolio Slicer, I would really appreciate your guidance.

        <description><![CDATA[Hi Vidal, I've been using PortfolioSlicer for about 10 years, thank you and love it.

I recently upgraded my laptop with new SSD and reinstalled fresh version of windows 11 and office 365 Excel version 2510 Build 19328.20244. After copying my previous files back to original location I get the below error opening the source file and the PortfolioSlicer3.1-Reports.xlsx file but not the PortfolioSlicer3.0-Reports-Light.xlsx file.

If I let it repair, the conditional formats and some font sizes are different than they should be as well as new data entries in source file. From what I can tell the data is still accurate after data refresh is completed in the report files.

I've downloaded a new v3.1 zip and also get the same error opening the same files from either the Demo or Empty directories.

I've spent the last month trying to find a solution, reinstalled windows and office again, looking at regional settings and researching possible reasons but without any luck. Any feedback to a solution is greatly appreciated and thank you again for this spreadsheet.

        <description><![CDATA[Vidas, I am using v3.1 of the Reports excel file and noticed that the Report Currency slicer is not connected to the Daily pivot table at the bottom of the Daily sheet (the one that lists all of your holding). By default the pivot table uses the original currency so if you have multiple currencies (ex. CAD and USD), the totals are meaningless. 

Wondering if this is by design or it was an oversight. I have connected the slicer to the pivot table in my version as this is what I want to see. Wanted to let you know. Mark]]>

        <description><![CDATA[For some strange reason I am seeing a x10 multiplier calculation discrepancy in the Allocation Target Table.

Below is what my Allocation Tab looks like:

The total amount held of VFEG.L is 12,454 but for some reason that I can't seem to figure out, the figure displayed in the Allocation Target Table for Emerging is only 1,245 and as a result I am getting an incorrect calculation. The difference is exactly a multiplier of x10.

I have checked the Symbol VFEG.L is set to GBP and the reporting of the total amount is displayed corrected as below also.

Any ideas on what I need to check will be appreciated.

        <description><![CDATA[Hi Vidas, I am hoping you can point me in the right direction here.

I got my migration to v3 working and realized that my favourite daily view (pivot table), the list of symbols over the last 10 days, is no longer contained in the workbook. Not a problem, I went into the Reports worksheet and created that pivot table on the Daily sheet. All good here.

But when I thought about it I really would like this pivot table in the light version of the workbook. When I attempted to create this pivot table I realized the data source in this workbook does not contain  the "Days - Last 10" connection/field.

I have successfully created the Pivot Table by using the "Days - Last 30" connection/field and simply hiding the columns for the first 20 days.

Are you able/willing to provide me guidance as to how to get the "Days - Last 10" connection/field into the Light workbook? I have been playing around but Pivot Tables are not my forte (and googling has not helped me solve this).

I understand that by modifying the workbook it likely puts me in an unsupported environment.

For the last few days, I cannot refresh Excel because it gives me the error shown in the screenshot below. I can refresh with PowerBi without a problem.
After going through the forum and my files, I have observed that the last price of one of the mutual funds is not updating in the holdings, as it does not download until after 2 days from Yahoo, and the field is blank. I tried adding the previous price in the quotes.csv (as only the date and symbol were there) but doesn't help. Can you please point out where the error could be? I'm using version 3.
