Hi Vidas, happy new year to you!

I have been using PS 3.1 for roughly the past 6 months and would like to explore how to create new dashboards using Power BI from existing data sources.

My Excel skills are basic level and despite having watched a few videos on how to start on PBI on YT but I seem to be struggling and would like to get your thoughts and or any tips as to where to look. I see you have have uploaded pics of several interesting dashboards was hoping when you have time, perhaps you could do a step by step video tutorial for beginners like myself would be able to follow and learn.

Many thanks!

As a retiree, just wondering if it is worth the effort to get an MS Fabric account and PowerBI (it appears to be a bit of a hassle).

Thanks for any feedback. Regards, Pat

Thank you for providing this great piece of tools. I am fresh user and sofar have set everyting up. The reporting in excel works as intended. However, The Power BI report has issues. I am not sure what the cause is, but for starters it seems that the measure "Total equity" is not calculated (it remains empty.

I been trying to figure what this error is for a week now but no luck. I have multiple accounts and none of them have an error except for one where I have pin point the issue to.

If I add a new transaction against this account, it would give me the Report Capital Gain % error, once I remove that transaction, there is no error.

I noticed in the Overview tab, I see the Cap gain % as -94.70% which isn't right, I think the new transaction push it over -100% which cause the error? I looked all all the transaction and i don't see how it could have calculated -94.70%.

In 2018 my broker transferred all stocks from one account to another in kind with a different brokerage firm.
To enter these transactions I used the SymbolTransferOut transaction type and specified Qty and Price.
Total TransferOut amount was $361,522. Total Cost Basis was -$296,398 as shown in the TransInfo worksheet.
But when I run a report in PowerBi, it shows me a Capital Gain loss of -$373,653.
Total Value and Cost Basis for that account come out as zero (as expected?).
CapGain in that account before the transfer was correct and is also correct in the new account that I transferred into.

Since the CapGain loss is close to the TransferOut amount, I suspect that somehow the Start Value of the TransferOut Account is wrong. Must be close to zero. In the Yearly Movements table (Yearly worksheet), the amount shows up as a negative deposit of -$379,772 which results in a CapGain Loss of (only) -$12,131.
So why am I getting two different results between PowerSlicer and PowerBI and what could explain the large CapitalGain loss shown in PowerBI?

Thanks for any advice you might have.

Therefore my portfolio value is overestimated by a lot! On the Excel spreadsheet on the other hand it works fine.

How can I configure the decimal point in the Power BI ?

In the PSConfig file I have the following:

# ColumnSeparator values could be : Comma, Tab, VerticalBar

Tab

# DecimalSeparator: Default value is . (dot), in some coutries this could be , (comma)

Hi Vidas,
Forgive me if I can ask a question. Feel free to send me onto researching on PowerBi forums.

I am looking to show some trading metrics as attached

As an attempt to code this with new measures in Power BI I have created the following measures:
* $ Sales Capital Gain = IF('Report'[Sales Capital Gain]<0,'Report'[Sales Capital Gain],0)
* $ Sales Capital Loss = IF('Report'[Sales Capital Gain]>0,'Report'[Sales Capital Gain],0)
* Sales Capital Gain = IF('Report'[Sales Capital Gain]<0,1,0)
* Sales Capital Loss = IF('Report'[Sales Capital Gain]>0,1,0)

I have created a copy of your Sales Tab and deleted “Sales Days Since Latest Buy” & “Latest Sell Date” and inserted the above measures.

Whilst the above work and shows a split between Profits & Losses in separate columns and similar a “1” against a transaction in separate columns for Loss or gain I am having an issue in having a total of these 4 columns. As an example, the total gain is showing as a total, Say, as an example, $8,000 in the loss column and zero in the gain rather than $12,000 Gain and $4,000 loss columns

See attached report from PowerBI

Any guidance will be appreciated, however feel free to say if I am asking too much of you.
