Error for first time installation
Dear team,
First of all, thank you for the amazing tool.
This is my first time installing, I don't have any previous versions on my computer.
I am using: Windows 11, PowerShell 5.1
All files were downloaded from https://www.portfolioslicer.com/download.html
As of 2026-01-26, my downloaded files have the following issues:
1. Full installation ZIP file v3.1.0: https://www.portfolioslicer.com/download/v3.1/PortfolioSlicerV3.1.0.zip
-> There are 2 folders: Demo and Empty, I checked the MinDate and tried running UpdatePSData.bat from Demo first. I got the 3 following errors, I have not edited any data from psConfig.txt:
Error (1): please specify parameter.
The current instruction for psConfig.txt does not show this parameter nor how to adjust (https://www.portfolioslicer.com/scripts/config-file.html). In Demo folder, the psConfig.txt file does NOT have the parameter
Error (2): Each row should have exactly three column separators -> I have not edited any other parameters
Error (3): Symbol -> I have not edited any other parameters
In the Empty folder, the psConfig.txt file DOES have the parameter, I have adjusted the path to the extracted folder on my computer:
When I run the UpdatePSData.bat script, no more Error (1), but Error (2) and (3) persist.
Same thing when I add parameter and run .bat in Demo folder.
2. Script v3_20251211 (2025-Dec-11): https://www.portfolioslicer.com/download/v3.1/PortfolioSlicerDDMScriptsV3_20251211.zip
- The psConfig.txt file does NOT have the parameter
When I run script, Error (1), (2), (3) appear, and another Error (4) below
When I try adding the parameter to the .txt file and run .bat, no more (1), still (2), (3), and (4)
Please let me know how to fix these, and kindly re-check if the files in current download links are the most up-to-date

Lets first properly setup config file. Yesterday I updated download and now psConfig.txt includes that previously missing ExcelSourceFile - this is critical parameter that needs to be specified.
Can you please download latest scripts (https://www.portfolioslicer.com/download/v3.1/PortfolioSlicerDDMScriptsV3_20260222.zip), get psConfig.txt from there and put it into your folder and update with your data and run scripts. Then please report if there are any issues.
1. In Excel workbook PortfolioSlicer-Source.xlsx, worksheet Symbol you need to add ^GSPC, ^GSPTSE, VXUS symbols. This is because you likely have them in psConfig.txt Yahoo section. So if you are getting quotes for Symbols, you need to add them to Symbol table.
2. In psConfig.txt review Currency parameters. I see your currency "863329" and I do not understand this.
Can you please post screenshot of your psConfig.txt?
please check, i have not edited anything from your 20260222 file
Please make sure that you have Excel source file in location: c:\PortfolioSlicer\PortfolioSlicer-Source.xlsx
Please delete all files from folders:Quotes, QuotesIntraDay, CurrExch and CurrExchIntraDay.
Then run UpdatePSData.bat script.
