Asset Allocations for ETF's

Greetings

Currently in my spreadsheet I'm using the following asset allocations: CDN Broad, US Broad, MSCI EAFE, Emerging Markets, and Bonds.

Any suggestions for an ETF that holds multiple allocations such as XAW.TO? It holds US Broad, MSCI EAFE and Emerging Markets.

Would it be best to create a new allocation such as Non-CDN for something like XAW?

I'm also considering purchasing something like VGRO.TO which holds all 5 of my allocations. It would be nice to be able to break it up into it's true percentages.

Just curious as to how others are dealing with these types of ETF's.

  • Hi,

Each symbol must belong to one allocation, so split of the symbol between allocations is not supported. But if you are not using symbol sector information, you could split symbol between sectors (allocations), but use allocation names instead of sector names.
