daily price change

Hello:
sorry it is me again.
I encounter a weird problem today. I hold 600 share of PWV. the price change today is 8 cents.Thus, the amount change is 0.08*600/0.7565=63.45
but the portfortlio slicer report daily change of -171. I check the quotes, the quotes are downloaded right. Not sure what happens.
the slicer calculate total value of the holding and portfolio correctly. but based on the portfolio value it gives me yesterday and today, the change is around 200; but daily change shows more than 300.

First - please make sure reporting currency matches symbol currency.
If currency looks good, could you please send me your spreadsheet.

the amount of change is fine when the value is reported at USD, or I use Original. It becomes a problem when I change currency to CAD. but when I take a look at currency quote, it looks fine. No sure where is the problem.
where can I find your email address, or is there another way to send you my spread sheet?

Hi,

So issue is with reporting currency.
So in US currency PWV price changed by 0.08$. But if for calculation you look at the same numbers in CA$, then there is an impact of currency exchange. If you look at PWV value yesterday and today in CA$, then change amount will be different.

Lets look 600 shares of PWV and see how PS calculates change.

Here is price of PWV in USD and CAD currency
2016-10-12: USD: 31.01, CAD: 41.17198
2016-10-13: USD: 30.93, CAD: 40.88637

Exchange rate
2016-10-12: USD->CAD: 1.3277, that is 31.01x1.3277=41.17198
2016-10-13: USD->CAD: 1.3219, that is 30.93x1.3219=40.88637

So value for 600 shares:
2016-10-12: USD: 31.01x600=18,606.00, CAD: 41.17198x600=24,703.19
2016-10-13: USD: 30.93x600=18,558.00, CAD: 40.88637x600=24,531.82

To calculate change in 2016-10-13
USD: 18,558.00-18.606.00=-48.00
CAD: 24,531.82-24,703.19=-171.37

Here is what Portfolio Slicer shows for daily change for PWV:
PWV: 2016-10-13: Currencyt Original: -48, Currency USD: -48, Currency CAD: -171

So Portfolio Slicer calculates changes correct.

Same way calculations are done for other symbols.

I see the point here. i do not consider the fact that the currency exchange rate is different at two days, only use today's currency exchange rate to do calculation.
I think I will stick to the report of original, which is less confusing
