PS turn blank during refresh

I am new to Portfolio Slicer. Just download and set up the PS and External Management Script.

I key in the data in the src, srcSymbol, and some transactions on the srcTrans page. When I tried to do a refresh all, the PS keep showing reading data and then turn blank. Anyone can advise ? I am running on Excel 2013.

Hi Edmund,

Please check:
1. Have you enabled PowerPivot for your Excel? (http://portfolioslicer.com/docs/computer-requirements.html)
2. Have you run external management scripts? Please confirm that you have 5 files in c:\PortfolioSlicer\PSData folder. Please open these files and check that you have data in there.

Just need to check, there seems to be few ways to refresh the data.
1) Go to Data- Refresh All
2) Pivot data- Update All
Which is the correct way to refresh data for the first time ?

Hi Edmund,

List of quotes you are getting (psConfig.txt) and symbols you are using in Transactions table are completely different. So you have no quotes for symbols in your transactions - you need to fix that before going any further.
So you first start with psConfig.txt list of symbols. If you have transactions for symbol XYZ, you:
1. Find if quotes exists in yahoo or google. Add to psConfig.txt in the right area. Run .bat file to get quotes.
2. You add XYZ to symbol table in Excel workbook.
3. Use symbol XYZ in transactions table.

As you can see - there is continuity as for symbols in transactions we must have quotes.
