Time Slicer in Dashboard Tab

Hi Vidas,

Is is feasible to add time slicers to the Dashboard tab? At the moment that Dashboard info is always for the current Portfolio status. I'm thinking it might be useful to be able to see the Portfolio status snapshot for any given date in the past. Would this feature be a practical addition to PS?

Hi Buddyb,

Dashboard is not a good tab to add time slicers, mostly because it already has filters applied that would interfere with any slicers you add.
For example, some reports already have filters "Current Year", "Current Mth" assigned and these filters will not work if your slicers . So if you will add time slicer, you will get no data back. Example if in the slicer you will select the year 2016, existing filter for "Current Year" will return value of 2017. So final filter will be - show data for Year 2016 AND 2017 and that will not make sense.

Holdings tab has time slicers to show holdings for the end of selection. But that filter is sometimes resulting in confusion as some measures return value at the end of selected period (Example Total Value at the end of 2016), but other measures return values for selected period (divideds received in 2016).

Best option for you would be to copy dashboard tab and remove existing filters and add slicers that would make sense in your case.
