Hi Vidal, I've been using PortfolioSlicer for about 10 years, thank you and love it.
I recently upgraded my laptop with new SSD and reinstalled fresh version of windows 11 and office 365 Excel version 2510 Build 19328.20244. After copying my previous files back to original location I get the below error opening the source file and the PortfolioSlicer3.1-Reports.xlsx file but not the PortfolioSlicer3.0-Reports-Light.xlsx file.
If I let it repair, the conditional formats and some font sizes are different than they should be as well as new data entries in source file. From what I can tell the data is still accurate after data refresh is completed in the report files.
I've downloaded a new v3.1 zip and also get the same error opening the same files from either the Demo or Empty directories.
I've spent the last month trying to find a solution, reinstalled windows and office again, looking at regional settings and researching possible reasons but without any luck. Any feedback to a solution is greatly appreciated and thank you again for this spreadsheet.

Can you please try:
1. Run Office Repair
Control Panel → Programs → Microsoft Office → Change → Quick Repair (or Online Repair)
2. If using plugins, try opening Excel in Safe Mode
excel.exe /safe
Then try opening file. If the file opens cleanly, an add-in is likely the cause.
Let me know if you still have issues and above did not help.
Did an Online Repair and after the repair also tried opening in Safe Mode without any success. There are not any active add-ins that I can see.
Is there anything else I can try?
Download files, extract from zip file and then in Demo folder right click on PortfolioSlicer-Source.xlsx file and choose "Properties". In the General tab at the bottom right side there should be checkbox next to "Unblock" - can you click that and see if after that it opens without error.
If that does not help, then the next step:
Choose menu "File"->"Options"->"Trust Center"->"Trust Center Settings"->"Trusted Locations" then "Add New location" and add location where your PortfolioSlicer files are.
Test again.
If that does not work.
Try:
- Close Excel
- Delete temp files:
Press Win + R → type %temp% → delete files
- Clear Excel cache folders in:
%appdata%\Microsoft\Excel
%localappdata%\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Excel (version varies)
Let me know if any of that helped, or if we need to look further.
I noticed that my Microsoft 365 was en-gb for some reason, uninstalled and re-installed from my account and it came in as en-us and now everything works.
Sorry for inconveniencing you, thanks for your help and keep up the great work because it is appreciated!
